Kianga Kelley is a graduate of Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, there she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication. Much of her time there was consumed as a sideline reporter for the Grambling Sports Radio Network and with service to the campus radio station, KGRM and GSU television network. She also found time to serve in the leadership capacity as president of the National Broadcast Society and National Association of Black Journalist. Community involvement is also a top priority for Kianga.
She played a major role in collecting and distributing bicycles to disadvantage children for KGRM, she enjoyed hosting community and university pageants and competitions. Kianga has served as a guest speaker for the local Texas Lions Club.
Prior to joining the NBC 33 News in Baton Rouge, Kianga was a news reporter for KAUZ Channel 6 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
While there, she created “Texoma Treasures”, a show that highlighted the talents and contributions of the local residents.
Kianga is a native Hoosier from Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2001, she was a runner-up for Miss Indiana USA . She enjoys modeling, reading, and traveling. Her favorite fan is “Romeo”, her year old yorkie.
