The general public is invited to this all-free celebration. Weather permitting, viewing of the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and several deep-sky objects will take place. Also scheduled are a storytime presented by the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Children’s Department, a Scope-on-a-Rope magnification session and visits from the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club and the Louisiana Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. In addition, Scotlandville Magnet High students will show off the moonbuggy they entered in the Great Moonbuggy Race earlier this year—-they won second place for design!
