The observatory’s 16-inch telescope will be unlocked, along with several smaller telescopes for patrons to use throughout the event. Weather permitting, viewing of the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn will take place. There will also be a binocular sky tour, so bring binoculars! Guests will include the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Children’s Department, the Civil Air Patrol, the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club and Scotlandville Magnet High’s moonbuggy team.
