Unity Church of Christianity's second metaphysical Bible class will be an on-going study of Jesus’ Parables. A parable is a short story with a double meaning - a meaning behind the words being spoken. The people hearing Jesus’ stories knew the references he was making. We can have a greater understanding of Jesus’ teachings when we explore these poignant stories that Jesus told in light of their cultural and historical references, as well as modern-day metaphysical interpretations. We will discuss the meaning behind these parables in light of our everyday lives 2000 years after their original telling.

This class will begin on Wednesday, June 25 and held from 7 - 8:30 pm following our 6:30pm Meditation. Each class will present a different Parable and stand on its own, though interpretation skills, historical and cultural information, will build from one lesson to another.

equired text: Bible. Unity’s preferred version is the “New Revised Standard Version” though your favorite Bible will be acceptable.

This class will be available for Unity Institute Spiritual Enrichment Education (S.E.E.) credit for those who are interested in that option. To qualify for credit, class participants must attend 11 of the 12 classes. Additionally for S.E.E. credit, a written assignment will be given prior to the last class for evaluation of the participant’s understanding of the material presented and involvement in the class. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee for Unity S.E.E. registration due the first class, made payable to the church, which will be forwarded to Unity Institute with your completed Registration form.

Please note -- S.E.E. credit and fees are optional. Anyone may attend.
