2 inmates on the run in Breaux Bridge

Update from St. Martinville Sheriff's Office:

Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received information that Robert Chatman and possibly Andre Gilbert are in the company of Chatman’s girlfriend, Amanda Champagne. Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office are currently looking for Amanda Champagne, 20, white female, brown hair, brown eyes, 5 ft., 163 lbs. She is driving a 2002, Silver, Chevrolet Malibu, La. License. #VHL938.

 

The suspects may be armed, and if anyone has information as to the whereabouts of these individuals, they are asked to contact 911 or (337) 394-3071.

 

Original Story:

Two St. Martinville inmates are on the run, after a midnight escape. The men were last seen asleep at the Breaux Bridge substation around 12:45am Thursday. Deputies realized they were gone about an hour later.

Now Saint Martinville Sheriff’s Deputies want you to be on the lookout for the men.

Robert Lee Chatman is described as 6’5’’ tall, weighing 230lbs. He has a scar on left wrist. Chatman was serving a seven year sentence for Simply Burglary. He had been locked up at the Breaux Bridge jail since March.


Andre Gilbert is 5’11’’ and weighs 150lbs. He has a tattoo on left arm that says ‘RSC’ and a scar on his left arm. Gilbert was also convicted of Simple Burglary and was serving a five year sentence.
