NEW YORK, NY (FOX44) – Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum go undercover, playing a couple of dysfunctional cops, who head back to high school for a drug bust, in the big screen adaptation of "21 Jump Street" The wacky comedy had the cast flashing back to the original 80's hit TV show.
Tatum says: "I was a pretty big fan of the show. Me and my sister watched it all the time."
And it got them reminiscing about their high school days, for better or for worse.
Hill says: "I loved high school, it was fun."
Tatum says: "I freaking hated high school. I slept most of the way through it."
Riggle says: "I don't know if it was the pine sol or the smell, but I went into the hallway of that school and I was like 'uh!'. I was instantly back."
Ice Cube says: "I was a jock for a minute, and then I started doing music and you know trying to be a beat-boy and you know it was cool times. You know, but just like anybody else, you know, it was good times and it was awkward times too."
For the stars, the time on set also gave them a new skill, car hood sliding.
Tatum says: “I’d say I’m definitely, I’ll take that trophy.”
Hill says: "Yes, he's way better.”
Tatum says: "In the south, that's how we all get into our trucks and cars."
Hill says: "He will always be the champion of hood slides. He also taught me how to do it so. He's Mr. Miyagi and I’m Daniel sun."
So if they were ever called upon to do investigative work in real life they say their choice assignment on the DL would be.
Tatum says: "Snookie.”
Hill says: "We'd go undercover at the “Jersey Shore”. We actually did that for MTV."
