BATON ROUGE (FOX44) - Sunday cooks from all over the country came out to LSU to see who's chili was the best, and to earn a spot in the World Chili Competition.
For only a dollar, folks poured into the 4-H Mini barn today to sample and judge some of the country's finest chili. The winner gets a chance to go to the world competition in Nebraska this October.
But for the whole family, there were space walks, talent shows, and even a classic car show.
all the money raised from this event goes to a Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, and Catholic Radio.
Cook-Off chair Eric Miller said with a type of event where everyone can have fun for a dollar or less, that's an event where everyone wins.
"I think they both benefit, I know the cookers and the chili contestants are having a great time, and the people that come out have a wide variety of food they can partake in, and taste. " said Miller.
