BAKER, La (FOX44) — The Baker Fire Department gave a tribute to firefighters that passed away during the September 11 attack this morning.
They wanted to create a memorial marking the 10 year anniversary of that tragic day.
They've placed special memorial frames outside the firehouse. Each one has the name of a firefighter whose life was lost during the rescue effort.
"(We are) not forgetting the sacrifices that so many people made that day. Not only firefighters, but police officers, EMS, everyone,” said firefighter Howard Ward. “And we just want people to remember and never forget."
The Baker Fire Department is holding a special memorial event on Thursday morning.
