BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) -- A 74-year old woman was the victim early this morning from an accidental shooting. The incident happened on Sharp Road around 2:00 a.m.

The Baton Rouge Police Department says the woman told officers that she sleeps with a gun in her bed. While sleeping, she rolled over and accidentally shot herself.

The woman was taken to a local hospital. We’re told she is going to make a full recovery as her injuries were not life threatening.

The investigation has been closed because Police do not believe there was any foul play in this incident.
