BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Even though the National Weather Service says Louisiana might not see direct impacts from Tropical Storm Don, agencies say it's better to be prepared.
"We're aware that there's something brewing in the gulf, it's hurricane season, we should be prepared to go". says Nancy Malone, spokeswoman for the Baton Rouge Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The agency has spent the last several days moving boxes and supplies in their warehouse. That work's being done to make way for new supplies if they're needed.
"Preparedness is something we talk about all year long - you never know when we're gonna face a disaster", says Malone.
The Red Cross says that's the reason an emergency kit should be ready to go , even though Tropical Storm Don seems to continue to move away from Louisiana.
