An annual festival is helping to rebuild after the BP oil spill
GRAND ISLE, La (FOX44) - Over one year later and the Gulf Coast is still rebounding from the BP oil spill, but the return of an important festival is a good sign of growth.
The “Tarpon Rodeo” is an annual fishing tournament that was canceled last year due to the crisis on the coast that crippled the local economy in Grand Isle.
The small community depends greatly on the tourism dollars generated by the fishing rodeo.
Now that it's back, people today say things are looking up.
The tournament, and the big party, continues through the weekend.
