ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA (FOX44) -- Assumption parish residents breathing a sigh of relief after this weekend's flooding.
This weekend, a lot of yards on Daggs street were competley flooded with water.
The parish Sheriff's Office said a lot of the flooding had to do with inundation of sugarcane fields behind the neighborhood.
Due to the quick reaction of neighbors, and the parish, they're houses didn't get flooded.
"The good thing about it, Dorseyville is a small neighborhood and we're pulling together, help each other with the sand bags and all." Doris Wiggins, a local Daggs Street resident, said.
