Attempting To Tame The Mighty Mississippi River

Thursday, May 12, 2011 - 3:39pm

The Army Corps of Engineers continues its quest to tame the raging and powerful Mississippi River.
There is still no word on if or when the Morganza Spillway will open to help stabilize river levels.

But as you know, triggering the spillway will help spare Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but the move could flood more than three-million acres.

This would also affect nearly 13-thousand structures, including the home of John Menard in Butte La Rose.
