BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Baton Rouge detectives successfully used a “bait car”, and a local man has been arrested because of it on March 12.

East Baton Rouge Auto Theft detectives received a notice that a bait car had been broken into around 11 a.m.

While the car itself had not been stolen, its contents were. This included a laptop, smart phone, GPS, and an additional cell phone.

Eric Chatman, 32, was driving a vehicle near the bait car and was stopped by officers. They determined that he was responsible for the theft.
