Bands also feeling the pinch at the pump when on the road

LOUISIANA (FOX44) - Summer tour season is in full swing, but high gas prices are making it hard for local bands to hit the road.

The local band Twin Killers is about to set out on a month long tour, but a gallon of gas still well over $3.50 and that's making it difficult to do, but they're not alone.

Even the big boys feel the cost of cranking up the bus.

The national touring band Sick Puppies says, "It can cost a thousand dollars to fill up a bus because it's pulling all the stuff in a trailer, all the gear and everything like that and also running a TV on the bus and lights and things like that and making sure the air conditioning works cause all those little things make a difference when you're out for 2 and a half years touring."

Sick Puppies is currently spending the week on tour in Texas, and they performed here in Baton Rouge June 1st.
