BATON ROUGE, La (WGMB) -- Investigators say the 16-year old boy found dead in a BREC park Monday night, was shot and killed while playing russian roulette.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office says Tyler Camel of Baton Rouge died as a result of a gunshot wound received during that game Sunday night.
According to reports, Camel and 18-year-old Brandon Wilson were inside a building in the Hooper Road BREC park using a gun Wilson allegedly brought to the location. When Camel allegedly pulled the trigger and the gun went off, detectives say Wilson grabbed the gun, fled the scene and hid the weapon.
Wilson was booked into parish prison on Negligent Homicide and Obstruction of Justice charges.
Camel's family members say they're not convinced he died playing russian roulette. They think he was shot in the back of the head. The EBR Sheriff's office says all evidence points to a self inflicted gunshot wound.
