LOUISIANA (FOX44) - A new report says Louisiana beaches are some of the dirtiest in the country.
It comes after a study by the National Resource Defense Council. The group since the crisis on the coast, many of the state's beaches just haven't been safe to go to.
Across the state, more than two thousand closing days were issued at 11 beaches.
The news isn't all bad, Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne's office says the beaches keep improving every day.

Out of five possible stars, beaches in Grand Isle earned one star.
Gulf Shores has the cleanest beaches in our region with a ranking of four stars.
Beaches in Florida fared well also, with Pensacola Beach earning three stars, and Fort Walton Beach earning four stars.
The rankings are based on water quality, cleanliness over the last three years, water testing, and advisories.
