Friday, July 15, 2011 - 4:08pm

LOUISIANA (FOX44) - A year from July 15th, BP finally capped the well head that spilled millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf, and on the one year anniversary, the company unveiled new safety standards for deepwater drilling.

They include requirements for features on and testing of blowout preventers, plus lab tests of the cement used in well casings.

BP says the new safety standards exceed federal requirements, and demonstrates the company's commitment to safety.
