BR Loop meetings continue
GONZALES, LA ( FOX44) — Round two tonight of community meetings for the proposed Baton Rouge Loop Project.
People gathered in Gonzales to vent their frustrations on the proposal.
Whether it's protecting the swamps of St. Amant or banning a loop in their backyard, people say they don't like the loop.Ascension was most vocal parish against the original plan last year! People living in the parish say don't care about easing congestion around the capital city. They want things to just stay the same.
Mary Ann Lipoma lives in the area and she said the loop can't happen: " I have a hundred year old oak that's been sitting in my family for 6 generations. And, I can tell you that we're not going to just sit there and let you take over our property."
Gray Hall also lives in Ascension and doesn't want the loop.
"They're advertising the loop going next to I-10 that's going to add more traffic more trucks more noise to the community," said Hall.
More loop meetings planned for this week and all are open to the public.
