Brewery starts production in Baton Rouge
First batch will be ready to drink by LSU-Ole Miss game
BATON ROUGE, LA (WGMB)--If you're not drinking local beer, then you're not drinking the best.
At least that's what the two guys behind the Tin Roof Brewery think. They've opened up the area's first production brewery on Nicholson Drive between LSU and downtown.
Two flavors will be available for starters on draft, but there are plans to expand and bottle. The two college grads say any success will be good.
"People keep asking if we want to be the next Abita," says William Mcgehee. "But there's a long way before that could happen. I think we'll just be happy if we can be in south louisiana."
Brewing officially started this week. It takes about two weeks until the beer is ready to drink.
The pair plan to serve the first batch the day of the LSU-Ole Miss game.
