BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - New Year's is the time for celebration, but brpd says that celebration could get someone killed if guns are involved.

Baton Rouge Rolice say every year, someone is hurt or killed on new year's eve because of people shooting guns in the air.

Nathan Drumm works at Jim's Firearms, and deals with many types of guns everyday. He says the decision to shoot off guns tonight is a dangerous one.

"It's extremely unsafe, they're not thinking when they fire a gun in the air, and the bullets are gonna come down somewhere. And it strikes people every year. So it's one of the most unsafe things to do," said Drumm.
