BUTTE LA ROSE (FOX44) - St. Martin Residents can breathe a little easier.
That's because portions of the Butte la Rose/ Happy town area are no longer under a "Mandatory Evacuation."
Its just a small area,
only a couple hundred people given the option to return back home, because officials say the water in the spillway is still rising.
Starting at 8 a.m.,families like the Serrettes eagerly rode into town.
They went all the way to New Orleans to escape the flood.
"It's try to hurry up and get everything back in place, try to have a somewhat normal evening back at home, nice and quiet, before the week gets back, it's just really really good to be back home." said Serrette
