NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX44) -- The UL-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns are the R+L Carriers New Orleans bowl champions. For the first time in 41 years the program has a reason to celebrate in the postseason. The Cajuns were predicted to be one of the worst programs in the Football Bowl Subdivision in the preseason. But first year head coach Mark Hudspeth helped put together one of the more impressive turnarounds in college football. The UL-Lafayette finishes the 2011 season with a record of 9-4 and champions of the New Orleans Bowl.
