Cannon misfires during military ceremony, one man sent to hospital
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) -- A ceremony meant to honor military personnel sent one man to the hospital today, Tuesday, May 1.
We’re told a worker at the USS Kidd located on the water in downtown Baton Rouge was having a three-cannon salute for a ceremony meant to honor military personnel who were killed in action. For unknown reasons that cannon misfired and one man suffered serious burns and injury.
EMS responded to the call and say the man had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment. Witnesses tell FOX44 News that the injury was mostly to the hand.
