Career Academy celebrates all those who made opening possible

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - — The Career Academy had a ceremony honoring all the people who made the school possible. The institution is unique because it provides students to gain skills in a variety of areas from hospitality services to tourism and health sciences.

Pamela Mackie is the principal at Career Academy. She says her school is nuturing students to become successful members of society, "It's very important for our students to become productive. It's important for the local community, for the students to be productive and give back."

The school teaches 172 ninth and tenth graders. The keynote speaker at the event was Marc Sternberg. He is the Deputy Chancellor of Portfolio Planning for the New York City Department of Education.
