HOLLYWOOD, CA (FOX44) – Working with his "Funny or Die" buddies, Will Ferrell transforms himself into a Latin heartthrob in "Casa de Mi Padre." Learning Spanish with the help of a tutor the comedian didn't need to dub his lines in helping to create an ode to Mexican cinema.
Ferrell says: "I love how adventurous and different the movie is, and I don't know of any movie that it's like in anyway in the most positive way."
Luna says: "It's crazy and it's funny and it's intelligent and it's stupid and it's everything."
Rodriguez says: "Do you like Mexican night and margaritas? You like that? You'll like this. This is all about that. Like visually, you'll be taking tequila shots."
Casting Genesis Rodriguez as his love interest was a risk.
Ferrell says: "Because she was not a good kisser."
Rodriguez says: "Delicious. His luscious lips. And let me just say, greatest butt of all time."
Ferrell says: "I literally, like, 'have you ever kissed someone before?' just directionally speaking. Cause a lot of times she would just start kissing my eyeball, and I’m like, 'no, no, no. Let's kiss right here.' and then it would come into my nose. So maybe she just needs contacts."
There are rumors Will may retire from American film and opt for lower budget masterpieces like this. So are they true?
Ferrell says: "If I can reach the fame of the super all-boy group menudo, back in the eighties that would be a dream come true. That would be game over, done. (singing a Spanish song.) Does that answer your question?"
