BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Chancellor James Llorens talking about the school's challenges academically and financially.
Llorens says southern has seen a significant drop in enrollment.
That's led to a decrease in state funding.
Llorens says the school is also looking into more online degree programs to attract more part time students.
Llorens says southern recognizes how hard it can be in today's economy to afford the cost of living and higher education.
"Students want their degrees and their looking for it in a way that's for them. we're in a mobile society, people seeking their academic credentials often cannot afford to go to school full time," said Chancellor Llorenz.
