WALKER, LA (FOX44) -- An act of vandalism in Walker has residents feeling as though they were attacked by a Christmas Grinch.
The Walker Wonderland is located of Hwy 10-29 and is a new annual tradition that started three years ago. The free display also features activities throughout the month December, such as movies and outdoor concerts.
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the display was vandalized. We’re told it happened sometime before 5:00 a.m. All of the massive inflatable items were slashed, and the bathrooms at the park were severely damaged.
Residents have already begun donating items from their personal displays to the Walker Wonderland as replacements. City workers have been active all day to clean up the mess.
Mayor Bobby Font is personally offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest. He has not specified how much that reward will be, but assures that he will pay for it out of his own pocket.
The Walker Wonderland will be open tonight and will stay open through Christmas. FOX44’s Kelsey Scram is out in Walker and will have the full report on FOX44 News at 9:00 p.m.
