The Civil Air Patrol helping out in time of need

Waters along the Atchafalaya and Mississippi Rivers are still above flood stage and the Civil Air Patrol has been playing a big role in the flood fight.

The Patrol flies over both rivers every day. While they’re in the sky they take pictures to update local and state leaders. They then use the pictures to make important decisions and come up with a plan of attack.

Now when the rivers aren’t high the Civil Air Patrol serves as the first line of defense for boaters who are stranded or in trouble.

The Patrol also played a big role in the crisis on the coast.
