Closure of the Flannery Bridge causing emergency response to be longer

BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Closing the lively Bayou Bridge on North Flannery blocks the normal route of the Flannery Fire Station, responding to calls north of Florida Boulevard.
The station is less than a block from the closed bridge.
Now firefighters will cut through near-by neighborhoods to get to Choctaw.
They say that will slow response time down by just a few minutes, and they already have a plan in place, to get help on more serious calls.
The fire station on Monterrey, and the Central Fire Station are both on automatic response, to support the station on North Flannery.
