BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — As crime plagues the community, some people say there needs to be more of a push to fix the problem. That’s after the Working Interfaith Network held a massive town hall meeting on crime last week.
Hundreds of people showed up with their thoughts on how to fix the problem, including lots of people from the faith-based community.
Reverend Raymond Jetson from Star Hill Baptist Church says the crime forum was a start, but the city still has a long way to go.
“Virtually everyone in that room has been to meetings before,” he says. “While it is a source of optimism, it’s kind of hard to be totally excited about a meeting.”
Jetson says the community needs to continue coming up with solutions outside of meetings like this one to really make a difference.
