BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) – LA Swift gets a new contract, and more money. That means you can catch a ride on the commuter bus service for another year.
The Department of Transportation and Development says a two point three million dollar federal grant will fund LA Swift through June 30th of 2012. The current contract just expired last week.
LA Swift ferries commuters from Baton Rouge to New Orleans and back for just five bucks each way.
The service began after hurricane Katrina, when many New Orleans workers moved to the Capitol City.
