NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX8) - Convicted sex offender Teddy Magee is in police custody, according to a spokesman for the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office. Magee, 32, walked out of criminal court Monday evening after he was convicted of sexual battery.
Judge Benedict Willard charged Magee’s victim with contempt of court, saying she caused an outburst that allowed Magee to escape. She is scheduled to appear in court today.
The spokesman said Magee turned himself in at his attorney's office. He was taken to central lockup and booked into Orleans Parish Prison.
