BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - A ban on new liquor stores could be expanding to other neighborhoods.
The Metro Council voted to stop them from popping up in Old South Baton Rouge by issuing a 60 day moratorium.
The move came after Councilman Tara Wicker said the area absolutely doesn't need more places to buy booze.
Now she's eyeing other parts of town that she feels wouldn't benefit from having another place to buy alcohol.
She's trying to get the rest of the council on board, but some are questioning the legality of the whole thing.
