LAKE CHARLES, LA (FOX44) — A couple is accused of attacking a man who was checking on an empty Habitat for Humanity home. Although their motive is unknown, Police believe the duo may have been in the process of robbing the home.
The incident happened on Monday, April 16 at around 10:00 a.m. We’re told the victim arrived at the Habitat for Humanity home located on South Bank Street in Lake Charles and noticed that the door was open.
The victim reportedly went inside the home where he encountered the man and woman inside the house. At some point the male attacked the victim with an unknown cutting instrument.
The victim attempted to fight off the man, and that’s when the female became involved. She struck the victim in the head with an unknown object. He was knocked out and the couple fled the scene.
The Lake Charles Police Department is currently seeking the identities of the two suspects.
The male is described as having a dark complexion with scruffy facial hair. He’s said to have some gray hair and no front teeth. He stands around 6’0” tall.
The female is described as being around 5’5” tall. She’s has a dark complexion with braids in her hair. He was wearing a bright, red zip up hoodie, and blue jeans.
