WALKER, LA (FOX44) - Saturday morning, State Police pulled over a truck with a nine year old in the driver's seat.
That's right, Louisiana State Police officers pulled the truck over on I-12 around Walker, after they got a call from another driver saying the car was swerving erratically.
That's when they found Billy Joe Madden, 28, intoxicated, and sleeping in the passenger seat. While his nine year old son drove from their home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Dallas, Texas. Hisfour year old sister was also in the car.
Both children weren't injured, and are waiting at protective services for a family member to pick them up. Madden is charged with child desertion, parent allowing a minor to drive, open container, and no child restraint and no seatbelt.
