Demond Cook caught in North Baton Rouge
EBR Sheriff's Deputies and U.S. Marshals Task Force make the arrest
BATON ROUGE, La (WGMB) --Demond Cook is back in custody tonight.
EBR Sheriff's Deputies and a U.S. Marshals task force caught up with Cook around 7pm on Lorraine Street.
Onlookers say they had no idea anyone was in the home.
"I mean it happened so fast, it really did," says Lisa Bell. "I'm just amazed that we'd been sitting out here all day and someone was sitting up in that house."
Earlier Tuesday morning detectives arrested Cook’s sister, Tamaika Cook, for principle to simple escape. According to Catahoula Correctional, Tamaika acted as a go-between for Cook and other outside help.
Detectives are interviewing Tamaika and working with other local law enforcement agencies to locate Cook and determine who else may have helped him escape from Catahoula Deputies.
Demond Cook was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday morning after he was convicted of armed robber and 2nd degree kidnapping.
