LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA — Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information on the whereabouts of a Lynes Anthony Ward, 27. Ward is wanted on charges of Aggravated Assault, Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation, Domestic Abuse with Child Endangerment, False Imprisonment, Resisting an Officer, Violation of a Protective Order, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
All charges stem from an incident which occurred on Friday, March 30.
As a Thibodaux woman was leaving her residence that day, Ward emerged from under the residence, pushed her back inside, and would not let her leave. He then allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and began strangling her. After releasing her, Ward grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stab the woman, who was holding one of her children at the time.
The woman ran to a bathroom with her children and locked the door, but Ward kicked the door in, grabbed her by the hair, and struck her in the face causing her to bleed from the lip. The woman was able to calm Ward down, and a short time later, they left the home and Ward drove her to the Colonels Truck Plaza (Terrebonne Parish). Ward allowed the woman to enter the store, and while inside, she asked the store clerk to call 911.
After returning to the car, the two drove off, but returned to the store a few minutes later. When they returned, they noticed a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy was on scene, and Ward got out of the car and fled on foot. The deputy notified the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office of the situation, and Lafourche deputies responded and tended to the victim.
Ward’s criminal history includes 5 prison stays and 12 arrests for various crimes including various battery charges, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Illegal Use of Weapons, Stalking, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, Home Invasion.
Ward has seven active warrants with bond amounts totaling $53,500.00. His last known address is Plymouth Street in Thibodaux.
