DONALDSONVILLE, LA. (FOX44) — Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested five people in Donaldsonville after deputies found evidence of a dog fighting ring in a home.
It happened at a home in the 1400 block of McKinley Street on Saturday Nov. 17.
Deputies got a call someone was threatening people with a rifle. When they got to the home they found 30 malnourished pit bulls, $2,000 worth of street drugs, assault rifles and dog fighting equipment.
Police arrested three people living in the home. 25-year-old Jermain Gibson, 27-year-old Michael Williams and 41-year-old Olivia Gibson. They face multiple charges including dog fighting, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and illegal weapon possession.
19-year-old Kirk Gibson and 20-year-old Rega Davis were visiting the home at that time and were also arrested.
