Downtown Baton Rouge green space getting a make over
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Construction is underway at Repentance Park. It's all part of a plan by the Downtown Development District to better use green space in the city.
The $3.5 million project is paid for by state sales rebates funds.
The new park will be more pedestrian friendly adding walking paths, connecting neighboring attractions like the Shaw Center, Old State Capitol, City Hall, and River Center. Other features include interactive fountains and a new amphitheater or performance space.
The project should be completed by the end of the summer.
