BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — An early morning fire caused a total of $125,000 of damage to a home in Baton Rouge.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a home on Allyson Drive at around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 8. When they arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. It took nearly half an hour to fully extinguish the blaze.
Investigators are still working to determine a cause for the fire. Reports say the fire began under the carport of the house and then quickly spread into the attic and kitchen of the home.
Nearly half of the home was damaged by the fire. The remainder of the home sustained substantial smoke or water damage.
Two people lived in the home. Both were unharmed.
