EBR Criminal Roundup

Thursday, October 14, 2010 - 4:40pm

BATON ROUGE, La (WGMB) - A busy Wednesday night for EBR Deputies as they clear almost 100 warrants.

It wasn't in area many think of as being "high crime". 21 arrests were made in the Stevensdale area of EBR Parish.

The warrants ranged from traffic violations to drug possession.

Deputies say they were picking up 18 year old Johnathan LeDuff on a traffic warrant.

That's when they say they found marijuana and an AK-47 in his house.

The area has had community meetings about crime before - but people who spoke with FOX News Baton Rouge say this roundup may mean it's time for another.

EBR Deputies are hosting a community event in the area. It's set for October 23rd at 10:00am. The event will be at the BREC Park on Hamilton Avenue.
It's an attempt at getting to know new and older members of the community - in their continuing effort to crackdown on crime.
