BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — The East Baton Rouge Library Control Board takes another look at hiring.
That after former Library Director David Farrar stepped down in December after controversy over his criminal record.
When the board hired Farrar they say they didn't do a criminal background check.
Now a committee set up a plan to help fix up the hiring process to make sure no candidate's information gets overlooked.
The board plans to institute a mandatory drug screening test for each candidate as well as a back ground check.
The board says they're looking for a new director that has 5 basic traits: common sense, smart decision making, good people skills, vision, and integrity.
