BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - 37-hundred Post Offices nationwide are facing possible closure, and one of those is right here in Baton Rouge.
The Istrouma location is under review right now, as the blame it on e-mail, and the need to cut costs.

A total of 51 Louisiana Post Offices are on the list.

The Post Office says the decision comes after studying their customer’s habits.

Their findings show most people don't need an actual Post Office to send off their mail.

They're doing it online, on their smart phones, or at other businesses like the grocery store or gas station.
The U.S. Postal Service says they won't be leaving customers hanging, there's a plan to replace shuttered offices with "village post offices". Locations like general stores which would contract for Postal Services, at a major savings.
