Joseph Adam Malin Sr. has waited more than a year for justice in the slaying of his son , Joseph Adam Malin Jr., Who was found lying in an open lot on the 200 block of Deare Street in New Iberia last year in July.

Malin’s death was the result of an acquisition of rape by a, 19- year- old-who was charged with one count of principal to first-degree murder in connection with the slaying. Police said the girl told two of her friends a man had sexually assaulted her and wanted them to attack him. She identified her assailant as Malin Jr. and the two allegedly beat him until he collapsed.

Unfortunately, Malin Sr’s misconnection with his ex-wife was the cause of his exclusion in his son’s funeral arrangements. He has not been able to place a grave maker at the burial site. Malin Sr. said he was told that a grave marker had been paid for but only is waiting for an inscription.

The 3 in connection with the homicides are awaiting trial.
