Feud over money results in drive by shooting in Ponchatoula

PONCHATOULA, LA (FOX44) — A feud over stolen money resulted in gunfire early this morning in Ponchatoula. A 20-year old man was arrested and a teen juvenile were arrested on multiple charges.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the call of a disturbance involving a weapon on Mitchell Road in Ponchatoula. When they arrived, they learned that someone had fired a gun.

With a description of the suspects in hand, Deputies were able to track the vehicle they were driving in. They pulled over without incident Skye Richard Davis, who was accompanied by a juvenile occupant.

A search of the car was conducted and Deputies found the firearm that was used in the disturbance, along with a small quantity of marijuana.

Deputies also learned that Davis and the incident involved a feud over alleged stolen money.
Davis was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of Assault by Drive By Shooting, Possession of Firearm with Controlled Dangerous Substance, Contributing to the Delinquency of Juvenile, Possession of Schedule I Marijuana.

The juvenile, who cannot be named by the media due to Louisiana law, was also charged.
