BATON ROUGE (FOX44) - Saturday firemen from all over Louisiana came together to honor their fallen.

Port Allen, Houma, Baton Rouge, Volunteer, all these brave heroes came to the Fire Marshall's headquarters to honor nine firemen who were killed in the course of duty this year.

A ceremonial flag was raised, and the New York Fire Department even brought the hallowed flag of 9/11. After that, three chimes sounded on ceremonial bells in honor of those firefighters.

Steven Hux is a retired arson commander from Jefferson parish, he only wanted to note the sacrifice these brave individuals made.

"We are your neighbors, we are your friends, we run into buildings when you're running out, we put our lives on the line everyday to save your life and your property." said Hux
