First Responders on Christmas

NEW ROADS, LA (FOX44) - Family is the way many people choose to spend Christmas.

But First Responders say they're always ready to answer the call, even on Christmas.

Chief Greg Johnson of the New Roads Volunteer Fire Department says he's helped and protected his community for over thirty five years.

He says he's honored to work on Christmas because it's a chance for him to give his all, and show the giving spirit Christmas is all about.

"Christmas to me is like, Christmas is everyday, so everyday we wanna get out and give support to the community and do whatever we can do for the kids in the community," said Chief Johnson.
