LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (FOX44) -- The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is calling them the “kick in” burglars. That’s because they would kick in the front door of a home and then rob the place. Today, the Sheriff’s Office says they’re all behind bars.

Officials say the five people involved are responsible for more than a dozen burglaries committed in at least three different parishes. Video surveillance caught three of the thieves “red handed.”

Those arrested include Herbert Floyd Biddle III, 35 of Livingston; Nicholas M. Duchamp, 22, of Walker; Brooke Yawn, 19, of Walker; Garth A. Kitzmiller, 20, of Livingston; and Michelle Wilkinson Berthelot, 41, of Livingston.

Detectives have recovered numerous stolen items such as hand guns, rifles, jewelry, electronic devices, flat screen TVs, fishing poles, and even a “turkey caller” with a combined value that exceeds several tens of thousands of dollars.

As Detectives continue to follow leads in this case, other arrests are possible.

As of Tuesday April 10, 2012, all of the accused suspects remained in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
