Mississippi river floodwaters top a levee in Northeastern Louisiana.

The water's flowing into East Carroll Parish, flooding some fertile farmland and prompting evacuations.

This is an older, secondary levee, and people are counting on a newer one to hold back major flooding from the mighty Mississippi.

Governor Bobby Jindal is requesting assistance for East Carroll and other parishes which are threatened by crop losses.
